About Nosht
Built chairside, by a clinician who writes notes for a living.
Nosht exists because clinical documentation was eating the part of dentistry that matters — time with patients — while still leaving clinicians exposed when notes were ever questioned.
The founder
A GDC-registered dental therapist
I practise in the UK as a dental therapist. Like every clinician, I learned early that the appointment isn't finished when the patient leaves — it's finished when the note is written. And the note is the only witness you get to keep.
Nosht started as the tool I wanted at my own chair: structured, click-through notes that are complete enough to defend, fast enough to finish before the next patient, and scoped to what I'm actually registered to do. No dictation, no audio, and clinical notes that carry no patient identifiers, the exceptions being referral letters (patient name and date of birth) and sending a leaflet (the patient's email or phone number).
I still write my own clinical notes with Nosht every working day, using the templates within my scope as a dental therapist. Templates for procedures outside that scope are built from published UK guidance (GDC, FGDP/CGDent, SDCEP, BSP, NICE, BNF), not from my own practice.
What Nosht believes
Four principles, all non-negotiable
No audio, by design
Nosht never records the surgery. Notes are built from structured clicks and typed shorthand — nothing to transcribe, nothing to store, nothing for a patient to worry about.
Notes, not patient records
Your clinical notes carry no patient identifiers — they are clinical descriptors you copy into your own PMS. The exceptions are referral letters (patient name and date of birth) and sending a leaflet (the patient's email or phone number). Nosht is not a patient-record system, and that is deliberate.
Scope of practice is a feature
Dentists, hygienists and therapists see templates and AI scoped to their own registration — because documenting outside your scope is a real dento-legal risk, not an edge case.
